Good News! All 11 Coronavirus Positive Patients In Andaman and Nicobar Have Now Recovered
Officials from the Andaman and Nicobar Island announced that all eleven who had tested positive for coronavirus have now recovered.
New Delhi: Officials from the Andaman and Nicobar Island announced that all eleven patients who had tested positive for Coronavirus have now recovered. The piece of positive news was also tweeted by Chetan Sanghi, the Chief Secretary of Andaman Nicobar islands.
In his tweet, he also said that caution still needed to be maintained and that all recent guidelines given by the Central government after the lockdown was extended will still be followed. According to Sanghi, the 28 days after the last positive turns negative is very crucial and that everyone needs to be vigilant.
Coronavirus cases on the island were reported last month after a man in his 30s had returned from traveling to Kolkata. Subsequently, other cases were reported, and most cases were found to be linked with the Tablighi Jamaat Congregation held in Delhi. After attending the event, they had travelled to Port Blair via Kolkata. The Union Territory had taken up several measures to ensure that the virus does not spread further. According to reports, there was strict regulation on social distancing and the infected were also closely monitored. The administration also introduced pool testing to reduce the number of test kits used. In this type of testing, multiple swab samples are tested. If the sample comes out as positive, then individual testing is done. According to Sanghi, who had tweeted about this, it had helped them use only one fourth the number of test kits. At present, the total confirmed cases of coronavirus in India has reached over 13,000 while the death toll has reached 414.11 out of 11 positive cases recovered while #AndamanFightsCOVID19
However, the watch, caution and arrangements will continue as per GoI guidelines. — Chetan Sanghi (@ChetanSanghi) April 16, 2020
