Dedicated Hospitals, Prompt Treatment, Covid Mock Drill: CM Adityanath Holds Review Meeting With Team-9 — Details

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday chaired a Covid-19 review meeting with Team 9 taking stock of the situation in view of rising cases. The meeting was also attended by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and top officials of the state were also present in the meeting.

In the meeting, the CM has directed setting up of dedicated hospitals in each district of the state and prompt treatment to all the patients of influenza and Covid-19. 

He directed to increase testing in the state and increase caution, adding the infection is controlled in the state. 

Here are the details of the meeting

  • In the last 7 days, about 2 lakh 20 thousand tests were done in the state and 265 Covid positive patients were found. There is one Covid positive patient per 10 lakh population in the state. Currently there are 262 active cases and the condition of none is critical. All are recuperating at home. At present, of the total Covid tests being conducted in the countyr, 35-40% are being done in Uttar Pradesh.
  • Last week's results show that maximum cases have been found in Lucknow, Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar. The condition of all the people found positive in a school in Lakhimpur is fine. Everyone has been quarantined. 
  • Maximum vaccination in Uttar Pradesh. Keeping in view the festivals coming ahead which will see more footfalls at religious places, elderly people have been advised to stay indoors or use mask if stepping out. 
  • The CM has asked to ensure that all the resources be made available for prevention of Covid-19 and that all the oxygen plants established in the past are operational. 
  • Ventilators provided to hospitals/medical colleges should be active. Deployment of paramedical staff. Anesthetic must be deployed wherever there is a ventilator. 

Union Health Secretary To Hold Meeting This Evening

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan will be holding a meeting this evening via video conferencing with States' Health Secretaries and senior officers to review Covid-19 preparedness. This comes just days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of the situation. A nationwide mock drill is being planned for 10-11 April wherein health facilities from all districts are expected to participate. 

On Sunday, the country reported 1,890 new coronavirus cases, the highest in 149 days, while the active cases increased to 9,433, according to the Union Health Ministry data. With seven deaths the fatality toll rose to 5,30,831. While two deaths each were reported by Maharashtra and Gujarat in a span of 24 hours, three were reconciled by Kerala. 

The daily positivity was recorded at 1.56 per cent while the weekly positivity was pegged at 1.29 per cent.

Nationwide Mock Drill On April 10, 11


According to a joint advisory issued by the Union Health Ministry and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Saturday, both public and private health facilities in all districts are expected to participate in the exercise aimed at taking stock of availability of medicines, hospital beds, medical equipment and medical oxygen.

The nationwide mock drill will take place on April 10 and 11 to take stock of hospital preparedness.
