Over 85% Of Eligible Population Vaccinated With Covid First Dose: Union Health Minister
Corona Vaccination: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that 85 per cent of the country's population has received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
New Delhi: While tensions continue to rise in the country over the new corona variant Omicron, the good news is that the vaccination campaign against Covid-19 is surging ahead.
The vaccination drive has been successful due to public awareness and government practices. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted on Monday that 85 percent of the country's population has received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
He also pointed out that 50 percent of the country's population has been fully vaccinated with two doses. The Health Ministry said, more than 71 lakh doses of vaccines have been administered till 7 PM on Monday. A total of more than 128.66 crore doses have been given in the country so far.

The National Technical Advisory Group met on Monday to discuss children's vaccination as well as additional doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. However, no decision has been taken yet on both the subjects.
He also said, "Follow all Covid-19 guidelines and maintain social distance." The Covid-19 vaccination campaign was launched on January 16 this year.
