'Bihar Has Congress DNA': Rahul Ahead Of Mega Oppn Meet, Says BJP To Be Invisible In 4 States

While Kharge asserted that winning Bihar would be the key to Oppositon's victory in the LS polls next year, Rahul Gandhi asserted that the BJP "won't be visible" in four states heading for the assembly elections.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former party chief Rahul Gandhi on Friday addressed party workers and leaders in Bihar's Patna ahead of the key opposition meeting where at least 15 like-minded parties will discuss strategy to face the Modi juggernaut in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. While Kharge asserted that winning Bihar would be the key to Oppositon's victory in the crucial polls next year, Rahul Gandhi claimed that the BJP "won't be visible" in Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan after the four Assembly elections slated to happen later this year.

"If we win in Bihar, we will win the country in 2024," Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge told workers at Sadaqat Ashram in Patna.

Former Wayanad MP emphasised that Opposition parties have come to Bihar to get united and defeat the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

"There is a battle of ideologies going on in India. On one hand is Congress' 'Bharat Jodo' ideology, on the other hand is BJP-RSS' 'Bharat Todo' ideology. We have come here because the Congress party's DNA is in Bihar," Rahul Gandhi remarked.

"BJP is spreading hatred and diving the country. Congress is working towards uniting the country and spreading love," he alleged attacking the Modi government.

Rahul Gandhi declared that "We are going to defeat BJP together."

"We will win Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and BJP will be nowhere to be seen. We will win because we stand with the poor but BJP means giving benefit to only 2-3 people," the former Congress chief remarked.

The mega meeting of key Opposition forces in Patna is slated to be held today. The meeting will be hosted by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with the aim to arrive at a consensus to forge a united Opposition front to take on the BJP.

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal is likely to raise the issue of the Centre's ordinance during the meeting. AAP's national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has been urging the Congress to voice its support for him against the ordinance.

Ahead of the meeting, Trinamool Congress spokesperson Riju Dutta said, “Desh Ko Bachana Hai, BJP Ko Bhagana Hai (have to eliminate BJP and save the country)".
