Rain, Snowfall, Drop In Temperature — Check IMD's Weather Forecast For North India
Delhi-NCR is likely to get rain and strong winds for the next two days. The weather department has forecast a drop in temperature and a return of the nip in the air due to a Western Disturbance.

Weather News: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light to moderate rain with strong winds is likely to occur in Delhi-NCR, Noida, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan from February 20 to 21 due to the influence of a Western Disturbance. Cloud movement has already begun and temperatures will drop slightly as the rain starts pouring. This is likely to bring back the nip in the air during the day.
On Wednesday, the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 13.3 degrees Celsius, which was 2.2 degrees above normal. The maximum temperature was 28.8 degrees Celsius.
The persistently high levels of pollution level in Delhi have also become a matter of concern. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 209, which falls in the 'poor' category.

The IMD has issued an alert of lightning in several districts including Shahjahanpur, Badaun, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur and Hardoi. Meanwhile, light rain is likely in many areas of Rajasthan including Jaipur, Kota, Bikaner, Bharatpur and Jodhpur due to the activation of the Western Disturbance.
Heavy Rain Likely In East, Northeast
Due to the cyclonic circulation, there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning in some parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Sikkim, Manipur and West Bengal. Winds can blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour during this time, which will keep the weather cool.
Snowfall In Himachal And Uttarakhand
Rain with strong winds and snowfall in high-altitude areas is likely in some parts of the hill states Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on February 20. According to Skymet, after the rise in temperature, a decline may be recorded again, which will keep the cold effect. Snowfall continues in Jammu and Kashmir amid severe cold. Tourists are enjoying the snowfall around Dal Lake in Srinagar.
The IMD has warned of rain and snowfall in many parts of the state on February 20 due to the effect of the Western Disturbance. However, improvement in weather is expected from February 21.
