India assumed the G20 presidency on December 1.
During the G20 Presidency, India will host 300 meetings at 32 different sectors at various locations across the country. The G-20 Summit to be held next year in September in New Delhi would be one of the highest-profile international gatherings to be hosted by India, according to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

During its presidency, India will seek to build consensus on debt sustainability and creating disaster and climate-resilient infrastructure. Another special focus of India's G20 plans include startups and bridging the digital divide.
The first Sherpa meeting under India’s presidency will take place in Rajasthan’s Udaipur. The delegates will arrive in the city of lakes on Sunday and the meetings will take place on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, they will visit the magnificent 15th-century Kumbhalgarh fort in Rajsamand and Ranakpur Jain temple in Pali district, as per another report by the news agency.

Meanwhile, Bihar government has started preparations for the meetings of the G20 'engagement groups', scheduled to be held in the state in March next year, a senior official said on Saturday.
The process of finalising cultural events showcasing the state's rich cultural heritage and tourist attractions has begun, the official said.

The G20 or Group of 20 is an intergovernmental forum of the world's major developed and developing economies.
It comprises Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the UK, the US, and the European Union.
