CBI Searches 14 Locations In J&K Over Recruitment Exam Paper Leak Case

The raids were a part of the CBI investigation into the question paper leakage of financial accounts assistants (FAAs) recruitment exam by the JKSSB, said an official.

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation carried out searches at 14 locations across Jammu and Samba in connection with alleged irregularities in an exam by Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) for the posts of Accounts Assistant, Finance Department, said the officials, reported news agency ANI. 

The raids were a part of the CBI investigation into the question paper leakage of financial accounts assistants (FAAs) recruitment exam, said an official, quoted by news agency IANS. 

The exam was cancelled by the government after reports of paper leak in the recruitment process surfaced.

As per the IANS report, the places raided include the residence of a Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officer who was connected with the conduct of the cancelled exam.

The officials at the JKSSB had been under the scanner of the federal probe agency since the beginning of this month. On November 8, the investigation agency had conducted searches at seven locations in three states. 

In august, a case was registered by the CBI on the request of the government of Jammu and Kashmir to investigate the allegations of irregularities in the written examination conducted by the JKSSB on March 27, 2022 for the recruitment of 1,200 Sub-Inspectors of Jammu and Kashmir Police. The result of this examination was declared on June 4, 2022.

In this case, 13 accused, including the Commandant of Border Security Force, one Assistant Sub Inspector and two constables of Jammu and Kashmir Police, one Central Reserve Police Force Constable, one ex-CRPF official, one teacher, were earlier arrested. 

On November 19, BSF medical officer Karnail Singh in connection with alleged irregularities in the recruitment of sub-inspectors by the JKSSB.
