Can't worship cattle smugglers; GST in favour of traders: UP CM Yogi Adityanath
New Delhi: UP CM Yogi Adityanath on Friday said that he has taken a tough stand on law-breakers whoever they may be; irrespective of party affiliation.
“Police has managed to nab 99% of those involved in criminal activity and it will continue to do so,” he said in ABP News’ programme ‘Yogi Sarkar Ke 100 Din’.
On Uttar Pradesh which had the dubious distinction with all negative tags: poor law and order, corrupt, criminal activity, poor growth, Yogi said, “we are tightening noose around mafia, criminals and people involved in illegal activities.”

No incident of harassment in the name of cow and will not happen in future as well: @myogiadityanath #योगीसरकारके100दिन pic.twitter.com/2SPUCezN72 — ABP News (@abpnewstv) June 30, 2017He said three months is a very short time to assess any new Government and will take a bit of time to revive the state from the rubbles the previous government had laid. The gau rakshak ‘menace’ has been bedeviling the BJP government across the country.
“Law breakers won't be spared, be it Hindu Yuva Vahini,” he said.
On banning illegal slaughter houses immediately after taking over as CM, he said “We had to take action as court orders on illegal slaughter houses were not implemented effectively in the state.”
“Will the administration worship people involved in cattle smuggling and illegal slaughter houses,” he asked.
“Leadership should be clean, efficient and corruption-free. If not, the state is bound to fail in delivering on its promises,” he affirmed.
Yogi said the government is concerned about farmers and in 100 days they bought 37 lakh metric tone of wheat from them
Talking about inefficiency of the police force, Yogi said FIRs are being filed now which wasn’t the case earlier. “Situation will improve.”
On Saharanpur riots, he blamed Mayawati of fuelling the atmosphere.
He reiterated that caste politics and ‘dynasty’ politics will no longer work in the state because people have reposed faith in a performing government and they expect results. Resurrecting the state from years of poor governance will take time but will remain on top of the state government’s agenda, the Chief Minister stated categorically. Yogi said small acts of violence need not be bloated up for political gains. This was a direct reference to political parties who wished to run down the good work done by the state government and would not be tolerated. “Even if the opposition could cobble up some support from various parties like SP/BSP/Congress, it would make no difference to the political landscape as they have already been devalued by the huge setback in the polls,” he said. On him saying the identity of the nation cannot be based on the Taj Mahal, Yogi said “People can visit Taj Palace as a place for tourism .Basic value must rest on our ancient religious Texts which can uplift the culture of India.” Ayodhya will be place of tourism as well as a pilgrim centre, he affirmed. He said not just the minority but sentiments of the majority in the nation should also be respected. The chief minister seems to be falling behind his target of making all rods in Uttar Pradesh pot-hole free. “75% of state's roads are pot- hole free. Rest will be completed after monsoon,” he said. He said the BJP will secure all 80 Lok Sabha seats in the 2019 general elections and will follow the party’s direction on the seat from where he will contest. He said the Goods and Services Tax which will be rolled out tonight is in favour of traders and will end inspector raj. “We should thank PM Modi for getting GST implemented.” Yogi finally said he doesn’t plan to continue in politics for too long. “I am not a full time politician, have come here to serve the society. Eventually I will return to Gorakhpur only.”Law breakers won't be spared, be it Hindu Yuva Vahini: @myogiadityanath #योगीसरकारके100दिन pic.twitter.com/hDltPezY7e
