Called 'Chinese': Sikkim Man Alleges Assault In Bengaluru, Cop Says 'Truth Completely Different'
On August 15, he celebrated his marriage anniversary with several friends and was on his way home late at night when he was accosted by a few miscreants.
A 31-year-old man from Sikkim was subjected to racial discrimination, called a "Chinese" before being savagely beaten by unknown attackers, police said on Saturday, news agency PTI reported. The incident happened on the intervening night of August 15 and 16, according to authorities. Dinesh Subba, a resident of Sikkim's Rinchenpong town, was taken to the hospital with several injuries to his body, including a broken nose. Subba had migrated to Bengaluru with his wife and three-month-old child seven months ago to make a living. According to investigators, he is presently employed in a city eatery.
"On August 16 in the middle of the night between 12 to 2, this Sikkim resident...he had a party with three of his friends post that he had in an inebriated condition fell down, the onlookers who've seen him bleeding called the 112 number and police have immediately rushed and taken his complaint of assault. He said in his complaint that three bike-borne people uttered racial slurs and assaulted him. The investigation clearly shows that what he stated in the complaint and what exactly happened is completely different... The investigation continues...In inebriated condition, he has given a different story," said DCP South East CK Baba, ANI reported.

They pounded him black and blue, calling him 'Chinese,' leaving him gravely harmed. The accused fled the scene after beating him up.
A police patrol squad discovered him laying in the street with serious injuries and writhing in anguish. He was admitted to the hospital.
