Building Ram temple not in government's hands: BJP leader Vinay Katiyar
The leader further called opposition Congress as the “biggest hurdle” in government’s path towards construction of temple saying “Congress doesn’t want Ram temple to be constructed in Ayodhya”.
New Delhi: Bhartaiya Janta Party leader Vinay Katiyar, who has been the founding president of Bajrang Dal, the student wing of Vishwa Hindu Parishad on Saturday while speaking exclusively to ABP News on the burning issue of Ram Mandir said that government cannot do anything on Ram Mandir, since the matter is in Supreme Court.
The leader who has shown an aggressive side in the past over the disputed Ayodhya issue said, “Government cannot do anything since the matter is in court”. He further added saying, “I want government to bring in ordinance and do something on Ram Temple”.
The leader further called opposition Congress as the “biggest hurdle” in government’s path towards construction of temple saying “Congress doesn’t want Ram temple to be constructed in Ayodhya”.
The statement came when massive pressure is being built on the government on the issue from various parties. Even RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat had recently asked government to bring an ordinance on the matter if necessary.
The statement came on the day when ally Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray is set to visit Ayodhya, along with his family and various party workers.
Thackeray is scheduled to hold meetings with several priests and saints and discuss the ram temple issue.
The supreme court had deferred the hearing for the case till January 2019.
