'Hate Speech On Floor Of House': BSP's Danish Ali Demands Probe Against BJP MP Over 'Terrorist' Remark In LS
The BSP MP requested Speaker Om Birl to refer this incident to the privileges committee under Rule 227 of the Lok Sabha Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business for examination, inquiry, and report.
As a minority member, BSP MP Danish Ali wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla that BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri's insults in the Lok Sabha were "heartbreaking," news agency ANI reported. "This is most unfortunate and the fact that it has happened in a new parliament building under your leadership as Speaker is truly heartbreaking for me as a minority member of this great nation and an elected Member of Parliament as well," Danish Ali wrote in the letter.
"During the course of his speech he directed the most foul, abusive, invectives against me which are part of the record of the Lok Sabha. Among the words, he directed against me were....Muslim terrorist, terrorist etc....I therefore intend to give this Notice under rule 222, 226, 227 of the rules of procedure and conduct of business in Lok Sabha and direction of Speaker against Shri Ramesh Bidhuri, MP," Ali further writes.

"Since this is the only way out to discipline an experienced member so that the atmosphere of our country is not vitiated any further," he further stated.

Speaking about Ramesh Bidhuri's remarks, BSP MP Danish Ali stated: "When this is the condition of an elected member like me then what will be the condition of a normal person. I hope, I will get justice, Speaker will conduct an enquiry or else with a heavy heart, I'm also thinking of leaving this Parliament because this can't be tolerated. Is this why we are elected, is this why our ancestors sacrificed their lives for freedom... they (BJP) just did not insult me and my followers but they insulted the whole nation... now let's see if BJP is taking any action against Ramesh Bidhuri or if he will be promoted and included in the central cabinet of ministers...maybe it has become a competition among BJP leaders to make such statements not just outside but even inside the Parliament."

Bidhuri's attack on Danish Ali provoked outrage in the Lok Sabha, with the opposition condemning the BJP MP's actions, which were followed by the Speaker's 'warning of harsh action,' which opposition MPs found insufficient. Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra questioned why Bidhuei was just told not to do 'this' again, whereas Sanjay Singh of the AAP and Adhir Chowdhury of the Congress were suspended 'for considerably less'.

According to the viral video, BJP MP and former Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan was allegedly chuckling. Harsh Vardhan responded with a lengthy statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, in which he stated that he has always worked closely with the Muslim community.
Slamming BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri's remarks against BSP MP Danish Ali, Bihar Minister Tej Pratap Yadav stated: "Govt must cancel the membership of the MP who used such words in the Parliament. He (Ramesh Badhuri) has no right to use such language against another MP, this is totally condemnable. People can see the behaviour of BJP and how they are trying to break the country and make brothers fight with each other...strict action must be taken and a case must be registered against him."
"Strict action if repeated. Shame on the Speaker for refusing to take any action against the abusive BJP MP. Opposition MPs have been suspended for trivial offences & here outright abuse is condoned," Omar Abdullah posted on X.

The Congress on Friday strongly criticised BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri's disrespectful statements in the Lok Sabha against BSP member Danish Ali and urged that he be removed from the House immediately.
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh described the statements as an insult to all MPs and said Union Minister Rajnath Singh's apology was "mere eyewash" and not acceptable. Speaking with reporters, Ramesh stated: “It is an absolute shame what Bidhuri has said. Rajnath Singh’s apology is simply not acceptable. It is a half-hearted apology, it was an afterthought. What Bidhuri has said is an insult to Parliament and makes a mockery of what the prime minister keeps repeating ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas, Sabka Sabka Vishvaas, Sabka Prayas’ which becomes all ‘bakwaas’ (nonsense)."
