BSP coordinator calls Rahul ‘foreigner’, disdains his name for PM candidature; gets sacked by Mayawati
In a statement issued by BSP coordinators Veer Singh and Jai Prakash said that Mayawati is the perfect candidate for PM role.
New Delhi: A major ‘crack’ seemed to have erupted in Opposition’s attempt to form an alliance against government ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections as BSP coordinator on Tuesday pressed for Mayawati’s name as Prime Ministerial candidate, disdaining Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s name.
In a statement issued by BSP coordinators Veer Singh and Jai Prakash said that Mayawati is the perfect candidate for PM role. ““For strong PM, only Mayawati is the apt candidate, who can give competition to Modi; On the other hand Rahul Gandhi cannot become PM since he has a foreigner mother and the same reflects in his persona”.
They further said that “Rahul looks more like his mother than father Rajeev Gandhi,” therefore Mayawati is the ideal candidate for she can relate to people better and people can relate to her.
From where is Mayawati likely to contest election?
As per BSP coordinators, Mayawati is likely to contest 2019 election from either Bijnor or Ambedkarnagar seats in Uttar Pradesh. BSP wants that Mayawati should come forward as a Dalit leader of the entire nation and should contest the election for the PM post.
Mayawati sacks and slams coordinator:
Hours after BSP coordinator made harsh statement against Congress President, party Chief Mayawati on Tuesday sacked coordinator Jai Prakash from the position of party's national coordinator and said that "The statement made by Jai Prakash were his personal statement and do not reflect the views and ideology of the party, therefore I would like to sack him for his position from immediate effect".
