BMC Election 2022: BMC Polls To Be Held By Second Week Of April, Delay Due To Increase In Seats

BMC Election 2022: Mumbai will witness BMC elections soon and all the political parties are gearing up for it these days.

BMC Election 2022: BMC elections are going to be held soon in Mumbai, and all the parties are gearing up for it these days. It is being speculated that this year the civic polls may be held in the second or third week of April.

This time elections will be delayed as compared to last time. The main reason for this is the increase in BMC seats this time around. At present, the work of demarcating the ward boundaries for these seats is going on.

The election dates will be announced after the completion of this work. It may be noted that the earlier number of BMC seats was 227, which has now been increased to 236.

This is not the first time that BMC seats have been increased. Between 1991 and 2001, there was a 22.1 percent increase in population, after which 6 seats were increased. During that time, the seats were increased from 221 to 227.
