BJP seeks apology from Rahul Gandhi for 'lying to the nation' about France's secrecy pact with India
'Rahul Gandhi has lied to the nation, has misled the Parliament' said BJP MP Anurag Thakur.
New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janta Party on Friday night sought an apology from Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi for ‘misleading’ the house with false claims about the secrecy pact between France and India over Rafale deal.
BJP MP Anurag Thakur in his speech during the no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha produced the statement by the France government in which it has asserted that there was a secrecy pact between the two countries in 2008.
He slammed Rahul Gandhi for saying that he maintained his stand on his previous statement despite France’s denial. France government today refuted the claims made by Rahul Gandhi about his conversation with the country’s President Emmanuel Macron over the secrecy pact related to Rafale deal. However, Rahul Gandhi has stood strong on his claims despite the official denial by the French government. Maintaining his stand on his earlier statement Rahul had earlier today said that if France may wish to, they can deny it. He told: “He (French President Macron) said that before me..I was there, Anand Sharma and Ex PM (Manmohan Singh) was there”.#NoConfidenceMotion - Rahul Gandhi has lied to the nation, has misled the Parliament.
