BJP MP Demands Parts Of Bengal, Jharkhand To Be Declared New Union Territory: 'Hindus Will Disappear...'
Speaking during the Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey claimed that the population of Adivasis in Jharkhand Santhal Parganas region declined by 10 per cent.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey on Thursday demanded that parts of Jharkhand and West Bengal be declared a Union Territory, claiming that there was a surge in the number of illegal immigrants from Bangaldesh in the region.
The request was made by Dubey as he spoke during the Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha today. He also claimed that the population of adivasis in Jharkhand, specifically the Santhal Parganas region, decreased from 36 to 26 per cent, but the state government did not take any action to tackle the issue.
"I demand that Kishanganj, Araria, Katihar, Malda, Murshidabad should be declared as a Union Territory, otherwise the Hindus will disappear," he said, adding that the National Register of Citizens (NRC) should also be implemented there.
The BJP Jharkhand MP also claimed that that the intrusion from Bangladesh was increasing in the states, where Muslims from the neighbouring country were settling and marrying tribal women.
"There are 100 tribal 'mukhiya' in our area but their husbands are Muslims. The woman who contests Lok Sabha or zilla panchayat polls, her husband is a Muslim," Dubey said.
'JMM, Congress Are Not Taking Any Action'
Furthermore, the BJP leader claimed that the riots broke out in Dagapara and Pakur's Taranagar-Ilami as people from Bengal's Malda and Murshidabad were ousting people and "hindu villages are going empty. This is a serious matter."
Dubey also said that he was ready to resign if it was proved that whatever he was saying is incorrect.

"The state I come from, from Santhal Pargana area - when Santhal Pargana separated from Bihar and became a part of Jharkhand, in 2000 tribals formed 36% of the population in Santhal Pargana. Today, their population is 26%. Where did 10% of the tribals vanish? This House never worries about them, it indulges in vote bank politics," he said.

Slamming the state government for not taking any action on this, he said: "Our State Government - JMM and Congress - are not taking any action over this."
Towards the end of the address he stated: "If nothing else, send a Committee of the House there and implement the report of the Law Commission from 2010 that permission is essential for conversion and marriage."
The BJP MP stated that the matter was not about Hindus versus Muslims but the settlement of outsiders in the region.
'Divisive Issue': TMC Opposes Dubey's Remark
However, Trinamool Congress objected to Dubey's remarks saying that he raised a "divisive issue".
"Our CM Mamata Banerjee has categorically said - we will not allow these issues (NRC) to be implemented...Today, Nishikant Dubey was raising the question of Hindu-Muslim...We lodged a huge protest and we told the Speaker to see that this is expunged from the proceedings," TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay stated.
