Tejashwi Yadav Slams Nitish Kumar's ₹370-Crore Budget For 'Snacks & Publicity'

Tejashwi Yadav accuses Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of misusing government funds for the "Mahila Samvad Yatra."

Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday lashed out at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the 'Mahila Samvad Yatra' alleging misuse of the government's fund.

In a post on X, Yadav said that the CM will use the money in the name of Yatra but will actually deploy it to improve the tarnished image of his government. He also alleged that money would be paid to a PR company for the same reason.

"Chief Minister Mr. Nitish Kumar will spend Rs 104 crore for publicity on social media etc. in the name of the yatra and women and Rs 114 crore for tea-water and snacks from the government treasury to improve the tarnished image. Apart from this, Rs 150 crore will also be given to a PR company," Yadav said in the post.

The former Bihar Deputy CM further trained guns saying Kumar is now spending more than the treasury of the poor state on efforts to improve his tarnished image, enticements, and social media.

"The person who asked us on our promise of creating 10 lakh government jobs from where will we get the money is now spending more than the treasury of the poor state on efforts to improve his tarnished image, enticements, and social media," he added.

On Thursday as well, Yadav attacked CM Nitish over his government's expenditure saying he is spending the hard-earned money of the people of the poor and backward state of Bihar on non-stop advertisements.

"Mr Nitish Kumar, who has completely lost his credibility, identity, reputation and principles, is wasting thousands of crores of rupees of the hard-earned money of the people of the poor and backward state of Bihar on non-stop advertisements," he said in another post.

"Until a few days ago, people used to say in government programs about Prime Minister Shri Modi and Amit Shah that, “They do some work, they just publish their photos in newspapers.” Now what should one say about them," Yadav said.

"Hon'ble Chief Minister, if you still have the power of thinking, then please introspect and think whether it is justified to waste billions of rupees of a poor state like this," he added.
