Bihar Eases Lockdown Restrictions From Tomorrow As Cases Dip - Know What's Allowed, What's Not

The Nitish Kumar government has lifted the lockdown restriction from Wednesday and has announced new guidelines. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar tweeted that Coronavirus infection has decreased due to the lockdown. Bihar lockdown ends today and new guidelines will be followed from Wednesday, June 9.
Bihar Unlock Guidelines
- Night curfew will continue from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am.
- All shops would be open on alternate days.
- Government and private offices will open till 4:00 PM with 50 percent attendance.
- The opening hours of the shop will be extended till 5:00 PM
- Schools and colleges can continue teaching online
- Private vehicles will be allowed in the state without e-paas
- This arrangement will be in place for the next one week. Still need to avoid overcrowding.
In view of the increasing infection of Coronavirus in Bihar, the state government had imposed a lockdown from May 5. After witnessing a declining trend, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held a discussion with the officials and decided to end the lockdown. The duration of the lockdown imposed for the first time was till 15 May, which was again extended till 25the May. After the meeting held on May 25, the restrictions were increased till June 8.
On June 6, Bihar’s COVID-19 tally rose to 7,13,117 after the state reported 920 fresh cases, the lowest single-day spike in over two months, while 41 fresh fatalities pushed the coronavirus death toll to 5,381, a health bulletin said. The state now has 8,707 active cases while 6,99,028 people have been cured of the disease so far, taking the recovery rate to 98.02 per cent. A total of 1.11 crore people have been vaccinated, of whom nearly 20 lakh are in the 18-44 years age group.
