Ayodhya Ram Mandir: Silent For 44 Years, MP's Mauni Baba To Break Silence With Chants Of 'Ram Naam' On Jan 22

Ram Mandir Inauguration: After Mauni Mata, now Mauni Baba has also come to light who hasn't worn slippers or talked since the age of 10. He will break his pledge on January 22

Ram Mandir Inauguration: A saint who has been silent since 1980 will finally utter his first words by uttering Lord Ram's name or 'Ram Naam Jap' on January 22 after the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya's Ram Temple. Madhya Pradesh's 'Mauni Baba' has finally decided to break his vow of silence for the first time in 44 years on January 22. He has been silent since the age of 10, earning him the name 'Mauni Baba', news agency ANI reported.

Named Mohan Gopal Das at birth, 'Mauni Baba' is believed to have been among the Kar Sevaks who demolished Babri Masjid, news agency ANI reported. He took his vow of silence at the age of 10. So how does he express himself? He does so using chalks and a slate. He also uses pen and paper sometimes.

The ascetic has also been walking around barefoot since 1984, when he pledged to put on slippers only after Lord Ram is installed on the "throne of Ayodhya".

He says has "full faith" in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that he will surely receive an invitation to attend the inauguration. Every day, Mauni Baba goes to the Superintendent of Police office and the Collector's office in the hope of an invitation. As per ANI, he has also applied to the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police in this matter.

The native place of Mauni Baba is Surya Nagar Pulao Balaji. However, he lives in the temples of Datia in Madhya Pradesh currently.

Apart from Mauni Baba, Jharkhand's 'Mauni Mata' will also break her vow of silence on January 22. Born Saraswati Devi, the woman from Jharkhand's Dhanbad pledged a vow of silence 30 years ago.

Saraswati Devi took the vow when the Babri Masjid was demolished. She pledged that she would not speak until the Ram temple was built in the holy city of Ayodhya on the banks of the Saryu. Her long silence has earned her the name of 'Mauni Mata' (silent mother).

A relative of Saraswati Devi told ANI that she was inspired by Nritya Gopal Das, chief of the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra. His disciples have invited her to visit the temple on January 22.
