In a majestic display of devotion, flower petals rained down from a helicopter over the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple premises in Ayodhya on Monday. The aerial spectacle was part of the grand 'pran pratishtha' (consecration ceremony) of Lord Ram Lalla's idol, presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Indian Air Force (IAF) choppers showered flower petals over Shri Ram Janmaboomi Temple premises in Ayodhya.

PM Modi, who arrived in the temple town earlier today, witnessed the rituals associated with the consecration ceremony. Earlier, stunning aerial visuals of the newly constructed Ram Janmabhoomi Temple were captured from the prime minister's chopper.

The holy event, steeped in religious fervor, drew a distinguished gathering, including notable personalities like Bageshwar leader Dhirendra Shastri, yoga guru Ramdev, iconic actors Amitabh Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, and Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi.

As Ayodhya brimmed with anticipation, the consecration ceremony is taking place in the newly built Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, a structure that stands as a testament to architectural finesse and cultural heritage. The temple, constructed in the traditional Nagara style, boasts dimensions of 380 feet (east-west), 250 feet (width), and 161 feet (height).

Adorned with intricately sculpted depictions of Hindu deities, gods, and goddesses, the three-storied temple is supported by 392 pillars and features 44 doors.

The main rituals of the consecration ceremony were officiated by a team of priests led by Varanasi priest Lakshmikant Dixit. The process began on January 16 with Vedic rituals, culminating in the placement of the idol of Shri Ram Lalla inside the sanctum sanctorum on January 18. Renowned Mysuru sculptor Arun Yogiraj crafted the idol, adding to the temple's cultural significance.
