At Sidhu Moose Wala Funeral, His Father Removes Turban In Heartbreaking Gesture
After the cremation, Moose Wala's father, Balkaur Singh, took off his turban and held it out in his hands towards the sea of mourners.
New Delhi: Sidhu Moose Wala was cremated in Punjab's Mansa district on Tuesday amid a sea of mourners and fans who gathered in Moosa village to catch a last glimpse of the singer. Moose Wala's parents were inconsolable, with visuals showing his mother hugging the glass coffin in which his body was kept.
After the cremation, Moose Wala's father, Balkaur Singh, took off his turban and held it out in his hands towards the sea of mourners who had gathered at the site. It was seen by many as a moving gesture to show he has lost everything.
Earlier in the day, the body of the 28-year-old singer-politician was brought to his home in Moosa village amid tight security from Mansa civil hospital, where the post-mortem was conducted.

A tractor, which had figured in many of Moose Wala's music videos, was decorated with flowers for his last ride to a family-owned field for the cremation. During the funeral procession, Moosewala's father and mother stood on the tractor with folded hands.
Moose Wala, who had unsuccessfully contested the Punjab assembly polls on a Congress ticket, was shot dead on Sunday at Jawaharke village in the state's Mansa district.
Hours after the incident, Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for the murder in a Facebook post. Goldy Brar is a close aide of gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi, who is presently lodged in Tihar Jail.

In a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday, Moose Wala's father sought an investigation by a High Court judge. "Shubhdeep's (Sidhu Moose Wala) mother is asking me where her son is and when he will return. What reply should I give? I hope that I will get justice," Balkaur Singh said in the letter, PTI reported.
According to an FIR filed by Moose Wala's father, Balkaur Singh said he followed his son when he did not take his security men with him and witnessed the attack.
Singh, who took Moosewala and two others to a civil hospital on Sunday after the attack, said in his police complaint that his son would get threats to his life from gangsters for extortion.
Later, Bhagwant Mann announced setting up of a judicial commission headed by a sitting judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court to probe the killing of Sidhu Moose Wala.
Punjab Police claimed to have rounded up some suspects and got important leads in connection with the murder.
