Assembly Polls: Vote For AAP In Gujarat To Break BJP’s ‘Arrogance’, Says Kejriwal

“Give us one chance. If you don't like our government, kick me out next time,” he added.

New Delhi: Launching a vitriolic attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its “arrogance”, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday asked the people of Gujarat to give his party a chance in the upcoming assembly elections.

“I met a BJP leader. I asked why the BJP does not work in Gujarat. He told me that we don’t need to work. Congress is in our pocket, that's how we win. They have become very arrogant. Vote for the AAP to break their pride,” Kejriwal said speaking at the Adivasi Sankalp Mahasammelan in Gujarat’s Bharuch.

“Give us one chance. If you don't like our government, kick me out next time,” he added.

Asserting he is the “most honest and corruption-free person”, Kejriwal said: “These people have conducted a lot of inquiries against me and found nothing.”

Speaking on the Congress, the AAP national convenor said the grand old party is “over”.

“However, there are good people in the Congress and if they want to do something good for Gujarat, come join us,” said Kejriwal during his address.

“There are some good people in the BJP as well. If they want something good for Gujarat, join us. Nothing is going to happen if they stay with the BJP,” he added.

Reaching out to the people of Gujarat, Kejriwal said that the AAP would eradicate poverty and give free education and good medical facilities if voted to power in the upcoming assembly polls.

“The people of Delhi have given us so much of love. I want to make lifelong relations with the people of Gujarat,” he added.

Taking a jibe at the BJP, the AAP national convenor earlier in the day  asked if the ruling party will recommend dissolving the Gujarat Assembly next week and make an announcement about polls.

“Is the BJP planning to dissolve the Gujarat Assembly and announce elections next week? So afraid of AAP?” Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi.

Kejriwal’s remarks come as the AAP is seeking to expand its base in several states, especially after its victory in Punjab earlier this year.

The AAP is in particular focusing on Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh which will go to polls later this year.
