Prime Minister Narendra Modi started his five-day state visits on June 21. He was in the US from June 21-23 and in Egypt from June 24-25.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi emplaned for India, after concluding his state visits to the United States and Egypt, on Sunday. His three-day US visit included meeting with thought leaders and business magnates, bilateral meeting with President Joe Biden, addressing a joint sitting of the US Congress, and taking part in the state dinner organised by Biden and the First Lady Jill Biden. In Egypt, he held talks with President El-Sisi and discussed ways to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
"My visit to Egypt was a historic one. It will add renewed vigour to India-Egypt relations and will benefit the people of our nations. I thank President El-Sisi, the Government and the people of Egypt for their affection," PM Modi tweeted after concluding his visit.

- PM Modi held talks with Egyptian President El-Sisi and talked about ways to boost the strategic relation between the two nations, with a focus on improving trade and investments, energy ties and people-to-people connections. The two countries elevated their relationship to a 'Strategic Partnership'.
- President El-Sisi conferred PM Modi with 'Order of the Nile' award - Egypt's highest state honour. This is the 13th highest state honour conferred upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
- Earlier on Saturday, PM Modi met the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Shawky Ibrahim Abdel-Karim Allam, and discussed issues pertaining to social harmony and countering extremism and radicalisation.
- PM Modi’s visit to the US started in New York, where he led a historic event at the UN Headquarters to commemorate the 9th International Day of Yoga on June 21.
- His US visit was marked by several deals to boost cooperation in key areas such as defence, space and trade. In a landmark pact, GE Aerospace inked a Memorandum of Understanding with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to jointly produce fighter jet engines for Indian Air Force’s Light Combat Aircraft (LCA)-Mk-II -- Tejas. The deal includes the potential joint production of GE Aerospace’s F414 engines in India.
- According to a report by PTI, India and the US are also expected to announce a mega deal on the purchase of General Atomics MQ-9 "Reaper" armed drones by India, a move that would boost India's national security and surveillance capabilities.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi also invited American chip maker Micron Technology to boost semiconductor manufacturing in India.
- The US is also likely to open two new consulates in Bengaluru and Ahmedabad while India will establish a mission in Seattle to boost people-to-people ties.
- In his address to the Joint Meeting of the US Congress, Prime Minister Modi said there can be "no ifs or buts" in dealing with terrorism and sought action against state sponsors of terrorism, in a veiled attack on Pakistan.
