Army Personnel From Jodhpur Regiment Honey-Trapped By ISI Agent, Arrested For Leaking Info
The police believe that confidential information of military and strategic importance was sent to Pakistan.
New Delhi: An Indian Army personnel was arrested by Rajasthan police on Saturday for leaking information to Pakistan’s intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), reported news agency IANS.
According to the police, the arrested Army personnel, Pradeep Kumar, was recruited three years ago and had been posted in highly-sensitive Jodhpur regiment and fell into a honey trap by a female agent from the Inter-Service Intelligence agency.
The police believe that confidential information of military and strategic importance was sent to Pakistan, reported the news agency.
Pradeep had come in contact with the Pakistan's intelligence unit’s female member through social media six months ago. The woman had introduced herself as Chhadam, a resident of Madhya Pradesh. Later the lady sought confidential documents related to the Indian Army on the pretext of marriage. The lady was also successful in convincing Kumar that she worked for a company in Bengaluru.
DG Intelligence, Umesh Mishra, said that Kumar has been taken into custody on suspicion of espionage. He is being interrogated, Mishra said, quoted by the news agency.

A year ago in June, a man from Delhi was arrested for impersonating an army officer who was being tried to be honey-trapped by Pakistan's intelligence unit, news agency ANI had reported.
The person, who was identified as Dilip Kuma (40), a resident of Mohan Garden in New Delhi was interrogated by Military Intelligence Officers, Intelligence Bureau and Special Cell of the Delhi Police.
