"Never Attempt Misadventure Like Kargil Again," Army Chief Bipin Rawat Warns Pakistan

A day before Kargil War anniversary, Army Chief Bipin Rawat said that war was a misadventure for Pakistan. "I am quite sure that such incident will never take place in future," he said.

New Delhi: In a warning to Pakistan, Army Chief Bipin Rawat on Thursday, asked the neighbouring country to not ever attempt any misadventure like the one in the year 1999. Alerting  the country, Rawat said “infiltration has come down to because of two reasons, we are alert and we have indicted additional forces to counter infiltration. They  (Pakistan) are aware that if they cross the border, their bodies will go back.” Speaking about Pakistan’s misadventure of Kargil War, Rawat said: “I am quite sure the adversary will never attempt this again. This (Kargil War) was a big misadventure by Pakistan Army in 1999...My warning to Pakistan is do not ever attempt such a misadventure anywhere and anytime in future." His statement comes a day before Kargil war anniversary,  which is marked on July 26 to commemorate the success of Operation Vijay. Rawat was addressing media persons in Drass, Jammu and Kashmir. He dismissed Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement refusing to take the blame for the Pulwama attack. He said "We are aware of the truth. So we don't have to get carried away by any statement. The truth is known to us and our establishment.” Also Read: Pakistan-Based Terrorists Fought In Kashmir, JeM Operates In India, says Imran Khan He said: “Our intelligence agencies had given ample proof of what had happened in Pulwama and that is all I would like to say.” Imran Khan, during his recent US visit, has said that the February 14 Pulwama attack  in India was an indigenous attack. He said that although Jaish is based in Pakistan, it also has presence in Kashmir and thus the attack is an "indigenous thing" that happened in India. In the attack carried out by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed 40 CRPF personnel were killed.
