Anju Came To Pakistan From India For Sake Of Love, Will Return Next Month, Says Police: Report

Anju, who hails from Rajasthan, has travelled to Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to meet her friend whom she befriended and fell in love with on Facebook.

The Indian woman, named Anju, who travelled to a village in Pakistan to meet her Facebook friend has a one-month visa and will return to her country on August 21, a senior Pakistani police official told Geo News. Upper Dir District Police Officer (DPO) Mushtaq Khan said Anju came to Pakistan from India for the "sake of love" and was "living happily" in her new home.

"Anju has come to Pakistan from New Delhi for the sake of love and is living happily here," DPO Khan told Geo News.

Anju, who was born in Uttar Pradesh but lived in Alwar district of Rajasthan, travelled to Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to meet her friend, Nasrullah, whom she befriended and fell in love on Facebook, PTI reported.

The 34-year-old became friends with Nasrullah, 29, on Facebook in 2019.

"Locals are presenting gifts to Anju, she is happy here," DPO Khan said. The police officer further said security has been provided to Anju.

A police official in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa told Geo News that the investigations into Anju's arrival was completed.

"She travelled to Pakistan on a month-long visit visa and all her travel documents are valid and complete," the official said.

Anju also released a video from Pakistan, saying she would return to India soon.

"I have come to Pakistan with a valid visa. I am safe here, I have no problem. I will return back in a few days. I appeal to the media not to harass my child and family," Anju said. Anju and her husband Arvind have a 15-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son.

Have No Plans To Marry Anju: Pakistani Friend

Meanwhile, Nasrulla has told PTI over phone that he had no plans of marrying Anju. "Anju is on a visit to Pakistan and we have no plan to marry," Narulla told PTI.

"Anju is living in a separate room of his home with the other female members of my family," Nasrullah, who works in the medical field,  further said.
