As India Revokes Pakistani Visas After Pahalgam Attack, Amit Shah Issues Big Order For All Chief Ministers

Amit Shah News: In the wake of the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday spoke to all Chief Ministers and instructed them to identify every Pakistani national residing in their states. According to officials, the directive comes amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the attack.

Shah asked states to compile and send lists of Pakistani nationals to the central government. These lists will facilitate the immediate cancellation of their visas and the initiation of their deportation process.

Government Responds To Pahalgam Attack With Tough Measures

The April 22 Pahalgam attack claimed the lives of 25 Indians and one Nepali national. It is considered one of the deadliest attacks in Kashmir since the 2019 Pulwama incident. India has blamed Pakistan-backed terrorism for the assault and has responded with a series of stringent actions.

These include the suspension of the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty, the closure of the Attari-Wagah border crossing, the expulsion of Pakistani military diplomats from New Delhi, and the cancellation of all Pakistani visas.

Sources from the Ministry of Home Affairs stated that all existing Pakistani visas will be cancelled by April 27, 2025, with the exception of medical visas, which will remain valid until April 29. Indian nationals currently in Pakistan have been advised to return immediately.

Amit Shah urged the Chief Ministers to treat this operation as a top priority and ensure law and order is maintained throughout the process. He stressed that there should be no delays in identifying Pakistani nationals and revoking their visas. The central government is coordinating closely with states to ensure the process is carried out efficiently.

Diplomatic Fallout Escalates

Following the Pahalgam attack, India has scaled down diplomatic ties with Pakistan. Military advisers at the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi have been expelled, and India has decided to reduce its diplomatic staff in Islamabad from 55 to 30.

In retaliation, Pakistan closed its airspace to Indian aircraft and halted all bilateral trade. Pakistan has also denounced India's suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty as an "act of war".
