'No Propaganda Can Deter India’s Unity': Amit Shah On Rihanna’s Tweet Backing Farmers

Earlier in the day, the MEA categorically stated the reformist legislations relating to the agricultural sector was passed in the Parliament after a full debate and discussion while urged the people to ascertain facts and have a proper understanding of the issues at hand before rushing to comment on such matters.

New Delhi: Amid the ongoing row over international pop sensation Rihanna’s tweet extending solidarity with the farmers protesting against the three farm laws, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday said India stands united and together to achieve progress, adding no propaganda can deter India’s unity. Shah put forth his views on Twitter and tagged the statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

“No propaganda can deter India’s unity! No propaganda can stop India to attain new heights! Propaganda can not decide India’s fate only ‘Progress’ can. India stands united and together to achieve progress,” he tweeted with the hashtags #IndiaAgainstPropaganda and #IndiaTogether.

The Congress too expressed its ire over Rihanna’s tweet with party leader Rahul Gandhi stating the ongoing farmers' protest in our internal matter and government has to take back the three agri laws. 

"I have no reaction on this. This is our internal matter and all three laws must be taken back," he told a press conference in the national capital. 

Thousands of farmers have been camping at various Delhi border since November last year, demanding the government to repeal the three farm laws and legal guarantee of minimum support price (MSP) for their crops. The government has so far held 11 rounds of talks with the ruling dispensation but there has been no positive outcome yet.
