American Adventurer Forrest Galante Visits Anant Ambani's Vantara Sanctuary, Calls It An 'Epic Project': WATCH
Wildlife expert Forrest Galante has praised the exceptional animal welfare at Vantara, the world's largest wildlife sanctuary founded by Anant Ambani.

American adventurer and wildlife expert Forrest Galante recently visited Vantara, the world’s largest wildlife rehabilitation and rescue sanctuary, founded by Anant Ambani son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani and non-executive director of Reliance Industries. Calling Vantara an "epic project", Galante said he was highly impressed by its extraordinary commitment to animal welfare.
Known for his efforts to raise awareness about biodiversity and conservation through his television series and expeditions, Galante said he was excited to witness how Vantara, situated in the lush surroundings of Jamnagar, cares for endangered species. He shared his experiences in a series of videos on his social media platforms, highlighting the sanctuary's remarkable work.

In the video, Galante was seen feeding an okapi, bathing elephants, sitting with a rare leopard with vitiligo, playing with morph-bred tigers, and even sitting with a rescued leopard that allegedly killed 23 people.
Forrest encountered a range of endangered animals, including elephants and crocodiles, all of which are cared for at state-of-the-art facilities. Elephants were seen enjoying relaxing sessions in temperature-controlled hydrotherapy pools, while crocodiles basked lazily in the sun at the dedicated crocodile rescue centre. Galante praised Anant Ambani for his tireless efforts to rescue animals from across the globe, providing them with a safe haven in Jamnagar.
In an emotional video, Galante shared his reaction to seeing a herd of elephants shed their chains, previously used as torture devices. “Imagine being chained for 22 hours a day. Those days are over for these elephants at Vantara. They have found freedom here," he said, visibly moved.
One of the most special moments for Galante was his encounter with the endangered Okapi, an elusive species known for its exclusive plant-based diet. Vantara's caretakers ensure that Okapis are fed a diet of fresh leaves, supplemented with essential vitamins and minerals, and are regularly weighed to maintain their health.

Galante also expressed his admiration for the care given to the elephants at Vantara. Each day, the elephants are bathed and pampered by their caretakers and mahouts, with special treatments like hot water massages and manicures. "These rituals help strengthen the bond between the mahout and the elephant," Galante explained.
However, it was the sight of elephants enjoying the world’s first temperature-controlled 'jacuzzi' for animals that grabbed Galante's attention. The pool features water jets at three levels, offering the elephants a unique, relaxing experience.
"What Anant Ambani and his team have created here is truly remarkable. Vantara isn't just a sanctuary; it's a movement for a better and more sustainable future for wildlife," Galante shared in a post.
