Pilot Detained By IAF At Uttarlai Station For Taking Pictures & Videos, De-Rostered By Airline
Alliance Air's pilot has been de-rostered after he was detained at Rajasthan's Uttarlai Air Force Station, allegedly for taking pictures and videos of the Air Force Station, ahead of Republic Day 2023
New Delhi: A pilot of Alliance Air was detained briefly on Friday by Indian Air Force security personnel at Rajasthan's Uttarlai Air Force Station for allegedly taking pictures and videos of an Indian Air Force Station, reported news agency ANI. The airline said that the pilot had been de-rostered.
This comes as people are advised to be more cautious while taking photographs at airports that are also Navy Airfields.

Alliance Air in a statement mentioned, "Safety for Alliance Air is of paramount importance and such occurrences are viewed seriously by Alliance Air. The said pilot has been de-rostered pending investigation. We ensure that all required corrective actions are in place. We would like to reiterate that Alliance Air as an airline adheres to the laid down procedures/policies. We sincerely regret for the inconvenience to our esteemed guests on-board."

In another similar recent incident at Rajasthan's Uttarlai Air Force Station, an Alliance Air ex-pat pilot was detained for a few hours by the IAF security personnel for allegedly taking pictures and videos. This incident reportedly occurred on January 9.
As per a report by the Times Of India, the pilot was operating a charter flight to Delhi when he was confronted by security personnel. The IAF lodged a formal complaint with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the report mentioned citing a source.
