WATCH | AIMIM Leader Waris Pathan Spews Venom, Says '15 Cr Muslims Will Be Tough On 100 Cr Hindus'

Pathan seems to be following the footsteps of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi's brother Akbaruddin Owaisi, who has often made communal and threatening remarks in his public rallies triggering controversies.

In a controversial video that has been doing rounds on social media, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Waris Pathan has said that "15 crore (Muslims) will be tough on 100 crore (Non-Muslims) in the country." The inciting remark by former Byculla MLA was made during a public rally meeting at Karnataka's Gulbarga district on Feb 15. "They tell us that we have kept our women in the front - only the lionesses have come out and you are already sweating. You can understand what would happen if all of us come together. 15 cr hain magar 100 ke upar bhaari hain, ye yaad rakh lena," the AIMIM spokesperson said. Pathan's statement has irked a controversy on social media and many are criticising him for making such divisive remark. He was speaking on the issue of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protest going on in New Delhi's Shaheen Bagh. "The lionesses have made all sweat," he said. "You can understand what would happen if all of us come together," Pathan said before making the controversial remarks. This is not for the first time that a AIMIM leader has made such communal and divisive remark in public rally. Pathan seems to be following the footsteps of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi's brother Akbaruddin Owaisi, has often made communal and threatening remarks in his public rallies triggering controversies.  In his controversial remark made in 2012, the junior Owaisi had said that if police is removed for 15 minutes, we (Muslims) will finish 100 crore Hindus of the country. Last year, Pathan lost to Shiv Sena's Yamini Yashwant Jadhav in Maharashtra Assembly Election from Byculla seat. In 2014 Maharashtra Assembly Elections, Pathan had won in this seat by defeating the BJP candidate by a margin of 1357 votes. Controversial Big Boss contestant and Bollywood actor Ajaz Khan had also contested from Byculla seat in 2019 Assembly Elections, but managed secure mere 2,000 votes. His tally was even lesser than the None Of The Above (NOTA) option.
