New Delhi: One of country's leading milk supplier Mother Dairy on Friday announced an increase of Rs 2 per litre in its milk prices, citing higher procurement costs from farmers. According to an official statement released by the company, prices have been raised for only poly pack milk and not the bulk vended milk, also known as the token milk. The hike in milk prices by Mother Dairy will be effective across Delhi NCR from Saturday, May 25. The 1 litre pack has been increased by Re 1/- only and the 500 ml pack by Rs 2/per litre effectively impacting the consumers by Re 1 per pack. The hike in milk prices by Mother Dairy comes days after another leading milk supplier Amul revised its milk prices by Rs 2 per litre.
“As a responsible organisation, Mother Dairy will continue to support the dairy farmers with remunerative prices and this very reason has necessitated the price increase.
