ABP CVoter Survey Assembly Elections 2022: ABP News and CVoter survey brings forth people's take on who is the most preferred chief ministerial candidate in 4 of the poll-bound states

ABP CVoter Survey Assembly Elections 2022: With just a few months time left for the crucial Assembly elections, ABP News along with CVoter conducted a survey to gauge the mood of voters in the poll-bound states. Among other things, the survey tried to understand who are the most preferred CM candidates in four out of the five poll-bound states — Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Goa.

This time, there is a tactical shift in the preferred candidates in at least two states, while the numbers continue to reflect the incumbent CM as the preferred choice in the other two.

Here is a look at the states and their preferred CM candidates:

Uttar Pradesh

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and UP CM Yogi Adityanath continue to be the most preferred chief ministerial candidate in the Hindi-heartland state with 41.4 per cent of the respondents voting in his favour.

Adityanath is followed by former UP CM and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav with 31.7 per cent votes. There is a slight increase in Akhilesh's numbers from September 2021. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati's popularity seems to be dipping, with only 15.6 per cent of voters in Uttar Pradesh considering her as the next CM.

From the Congress, neither Ravi Naik nor Digambar Kamat were able to get the popular vote in the survey.

Punjab

The Punjab numbers will come as massive relief for Congress supporters as the new CM Charanjit Singh Channi's approval numbers have become the highest in Punjab. He has overturned Arvind Kejriwal's 22% lead from September and now has become Punjab's most preferred CM candidate.

Kejriwal's ratings were down to 20.8%, while Channi's ratings were 30%. Akali Dal's Sukhbir Singh Badal comes in third place with 16.1% preference.
