AAP MP Sanjay Singh Tears Defamation Notice From Delhi Lt Guv Saxena On Camera. Watch Video

Addressing a press conference, Sanjay Singh said he won't be cowed down by this defamation notice sent by a 'corrupt man'.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh on Wednesday tore a defamation notice sent by Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena over allegations of corruption in connection with his tenure as chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC). Addressing a press conference, Singh said he won't be cowed down by this defamation notice sent by a "corrupt man".

"As a member of the Rajya Sabha, I have the right to speak the truth. I will not be cowed down by this notice sent by a thief, a corrupt man," Singh said as went on to tear the defamation notice into several pieces.

"I can tear and throw away such notices 10 times," the AAP leader further said.

Singh alleged that when Saxena was the chairman of KVIC, the bank accounts of only 1,93,598 employees out of 4,55,000 were opened.

"The rest 2.5 lakh were 'ghost employees', who kept getting cash payments every month. It is a scam worth billions," Singh said.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi should remove such a corrupt Lt Governor and arrest him. If you expose the corruption of the L-G, he sends a notice. I am going to tear 10 such notices. There should be a CBI and ED inquiry against VK Saxena to find out where the looted money is kept," the AAP MP further said.

On Monday, Lt Governor sent a legal notice to AAP leaders Atishi, Durgesh Pathak, Saurabh Bharadwaj and Sanjay Singh over 'Khadi scam' allegations. The notice was also been sent to Jasmine Shah, who is the vice-chairman of the Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi. The AAP leaders were asked to reply to the notice within 48 hours.

The AAP has alleged that LG Saxena pressured his employees to exchange demonetised currency notes worth Rs 1,400 crore in 2016 when he was the chairman of KVIC.
