No choppers, planes for 2019 LS poll campaign as BJP booked lion's share; claims Congress

The Congress came out hard at the BJP on Tuesday claiming that the Modi-led ruling part at the centre has booked 200 helicopters and aeroplanes for ferrying its leaders for the Lok Sabha polls campaigning across the country leaving it with fewer option.

New Delhi: The Congress came out hard at the BJP on Tuesday claiming that the Modi-led ruling part at the centre has booked 200 helicopters and aeroplanes for ferrying its leaders for the Lok Sabha polls campaigning across the country leaving it with fewer option. Senior Congress Anand Sharma said the 2019 Lok Sabha battle was not evenly poised as the BJP was way ahead in terms of the funds they had to spend on their advertisements for poll campaign. “They have booked more than 200 helicopters and aeroplanes for campaigning,” Sharma said adding that the Congress was struggling to meet the challenge. Sharma, at the same time, asserted that the Congress will defeat the BJP in the Lok Sabha electi... The Congress also raised strong objections to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's use of state machinery and resources for “furthering his political agenda to abuse the opposition.” Sharma lashed out at PM Modi and BJP's “principal propagandist” and accused them of misleading people through tall claims which eventually ended as false promises. He claimed Modi had brought the level of discourse in the country to “gutter level”.
