NSA Ajit Doval, who is in Jeddah for a two-day conference on Ukraine peace talks, said that India is a willing partner to find a lasting solution to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Russia-Ukraine War: National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval has said that India will remain an active and willing partner to find a lasting solution Russia-Ukraine conflict, adding that nothing will give India more happiness than such an outcome, reported ANI citing sources. He said the entire world is bearing the brunt due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. He said that India is a willing partner to find a lasting solution to establish the global order based on principles enshrined in UN Charter and international law, the news agency added. NSA Ajit Doval made the remarks at a meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia aimed at finding ways for a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine conflict.

"India will remain an active and willing partner to find a lasting and comprehensive solution. Nothing will give India more happiness and satisfaction than such an outcome," NAS Ajit Doval further said, as quoted by sources, according to ANI.

According to PTI, the two-day conference is being hosted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman. The meet is being attended by top security officials from around 40 countries. The report added, citing sources, that Russia has not been invited to it. US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and China's Special Envoy for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui are some of the attendees.

Meanwhile, sharing India's concern over the situation, Doval said that India has regularly engaged both Russia and Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict at the highest levels. According to sources, as per ANI, Doval said that respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity by all states must be upheld without exception.

"All peace efforts involving all stakeholders must be pursued to find a just and enduring solution. It is in this spirit that India participated in the meeting in Jeddah," sources quoted the NSA as saying, according to ANI. The NSA also said that the whole world and especially Global South is bearing the brunt of the situation.

Speaking on humanitarian aid given by India, Doval emphasised that India is providing both humanitarian assistance to Ukraine and economic assistance to its neighbours in Global South, the agency added. "India’s approach has been and always will be to promote dialogue and diplomacy. This is the only way forward for peace," he said, ANI stated citing sources.

NSA also highlighted how the situation can be handled and said, "...the meeting confronts a two-fold challenge - resolution of the situation and softening the consequences of the conflict. Efforts must be directed on both fronts simultaneously and much more groundwork is needed to ensure this. Currently, several peace proposals have been put forward. Each has some positive points but none is acceptable to both sides. The key question that needs to be addressed in this meeting is whether a solution that is acceptable to all relevant stakeholders can be found."
