Hyundai Creta Facelift Unofficial Bookings Underway; Launch Expected In May 2018

Authorised Hyundai dealers are promising deliveries by the end of May 2018

Brazil-spec Hyundai Creta Facelift

Hyundai seems to be planning to launch the Creta facelift in the month of May itself. Authorised Hyundai dealerships in Delhi and Jaipur have already started accepting bookings for the Creta facelift at an upfront amount ranging from Rs 11,000 to Rs 51,000 (refundable). The dealers are also promising deliveries by the end of this month.

Is it safe to book one now? Yes. All you have to do is ensure that you get the dealer’s booking form or receipt, just like you would normally get while booking any other new car. However, unlike booking a car that’s on sale, the dealer might not mention the variant, colour or any other details at this point. That said, the dealership’s receipt is a valid proof of booking.

Once Hyundai officially opens bookings for the Creta facelift, the dealership will book an order of the updated Creta for you. And the first lot of cars that the dealer gets should include your Creta as well. You should, however, be in touch with your respective dealership or sales consultant about your booking and delivery date in order to ensure your new car reaches you on time.

Hyundai has not revealed any detail of the updated Creta yet. But leaked images reveal a fair bit about the upcoming compact SUV. Here’s all we know:

  • The Creta facelift will get a new hexagonal grille at the front, reworked headlamp layout with LED DRLs and a redesigned front bumper with restyled fog lamp housing

  • Top-of-the-line variants are expected to feature a new set of dual-tone diamond cut alloys
  • The updated Creta is likely to carry forward its current set of engines - a 1.4-litre diesel and 1.6-litre petrol, and diesel engines - with a standard 6-speed manual and an optional 6-speed automatic for the 1.6-litre versions
  • When launched, the updated Creta will renew its rivalry against likes of the Renault Captur, Renault Duster and the Maruti Suzuki S Cross
