Honda Navi Surpasses 1 Lakh Sales Milestone

Honda has announced that its first indigenously-developed monkey bike, the Navi, has crossed the 1 lakh-unit sales milestone. Currently, the Navi is exported to 10 countries apart from India. The Japanese manufacturer is now gearing up to introduce it in two more countries - Dominican Republic and Costa Rica. 

Powering the Navi is an Activa-derived 109.19cc, single-cylinder engine that generates 8.03PS at 7000rpm and 8.94Nm at 5500rpm. A CVT gearbox transfers power to the rear wheel, while braking is via 130mm drum units on both ends. The suspension bits include upside down forks up front and a single shock absorber at the rear.

The Honda Navi, which was temporarily forced out of the market for failing to comply with BSIV emission norms, made a comeback earlier this year with a few additional features. It now gets a much-needed fuel gauge as well. You can read about the 2018 iteration of the Navi here. The Navi is a one-of-a-kind product and does not have any direct competitors in India. Priced at Rs 44,775 (ex-showroom Delhi), the Navi gets a host of optional accessories to customise its looks and functionality as per the rider’s liking. Here’s Honda’s official statement:

Gurugram, August 16 ,2018: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI) today announced the FUNtastic NAVilution spreading across 1 Lac happy custo-maniacs. Honda disrupted Indian 2Wheeler industry with the launch of NAVi amongst huge fan fair at Auto Expo 2016. The ‘most talked about’ two-wheeler of the country- Honda NAVi is the first 100% indigenously developed model by Honda R&D India i.e. from the concept development to commercial production.

Spreading the FUN element not only in India but around the world, Honda NAVi will be available in two new international markets- the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica within this year. Currently, NAVi is exported to 10 countries.

Speaking on the stupendous achievement, Mr. Yadvinder Singh Guleria - Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. NAVi is a design statement in its standard form and is FUN TO SEE, absolute pure FUN TO RIDE and FUN TO CREATE with customization options. The 2018 edition now comes with more exciting features like new stylish fuel gauge and metal muffler protector which provide for extra convenience. It is also available in two new vibrant colours - Ranger Green and Ladakh Brown with new body coloured elements- grab rail, headlight cover, rear view mirrors and sporty red colour cushion spring adding to its FUNtastic looks.

Honda NAVi is powered by 109cc engine which makes 8PS at 7,000 rpm and delivers a peak torque of 8.96Nm at 5,500rpm gets tubeless tyres. It gets upside-down telescopic forks at the front and a hydraulic monoshock at the rear. The NAVi is available at an attractive price of Rs. 44,775 (ex-showroom Delhi)

The standard NAVi is available in 6 colour options: Patriot Red, Shasta White, Sparky Orange, Black, Ranger Green (New), Ladakh Brown (New).
