'Ye PUBG Wala Hai Kya': Twitter Turns Into Meme Battleground After Govt Bans 118 Mobile Apps; Check Hilarious Tweets

The PUBG ban has come after the fresh Chinese incursion attempts in Indian territory at Pangong Tso in eastern Ladakh.

New Delhi: In another "digital strike" against China, the Indian government on Wednesday has announced its decision to ban 118 apps, including the viral gaming app PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile, Baidu and several VPNs that allowed access to TikTok that was earlier banned. ALSO READ | PUBG Ban: No More 'Chicken Dinner'! Check Complete List Of Apps Banned In India The move has come after the fresh Chinese incursion attempts in Indian territory at Pangong Tso in eastern Ladakh despite several talks between both countries to resolve the tension across the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. Currently, the PUBG app has more than 600 million downloads and 50 million active players globally, not including the Chinese mainland where a rebranded version of the game is called 'Game for Peace'. This decision has perhaps come as shock for teens who spend hours every day playing this game. Hilarious reactions taking a dig at their plight and talking about their parents' happiness over this ban followed soon after. Here are some of the funniest memes and reaction on Twitter: The talks of a PUBG ban started right when the Indian government had banned 59 Chinese apps including the viral video app TikTok. PUBG's ties with China's biggest gaming company Tencent had brought it under the scanner of the Indian government as according to reports, the centre was probing Tencent's involvement with and connection to the Chinese government. After the fresh clashes with Chinese troops at LAC, India has expanded its ban on the applications that have direct or indirect ties with China. How does the 'Dragon' react to this development, remains to be seen.
