PUBG Ban: No more visits to Pochinki, no more rushing to grab the drop, no more reviving friends, as the 'last man standing' game will now be banned across the country. GOI has asserted that the move was taken in national interest.

PUBG ban in India: An eleven-year-old boy moved the Bombay High Court Thursday seeking a ban on popular mobile game 'PUBG'.

PUBG Ban In India: In a major heartbreak for lakhs of PUBG aficionados in the country, the Government of India has taken a tough call on the popular gaming app and has decided to ban it in the country along with 117 other Chinese applications. The move comes amid heightened tensions with China over border issue in Ladakh. According to a report in news agency IANS, the game saw over 175 million installs in India. In the first quarter of this year, PUBG Mobile has seen a global revenue gain of $1.3 billion (roughly Rs 9,731 crore). PUBG which is bascially a 'last man standing game' has been the biggest recent gaming sensation in the region. In the game, up to one hundred players parachute onto an island and scavenge for weapons and equipment to kill others while avoiding getting killed themselves. The available safe area of the game's map decreases in size over time, directing surviving players into tighter areas to force encounters. The last player or team standing wins the round. Is PUBG Chinese? Unlike other apps that have been banned, PUBG is not entirely Chinese, the game was developed and published a subsidiary of South Korean video game company Bluehole. After it started gaining popularity Chinese company Tencent joined with Bluehole to handle distribution and market it in China. The game is distributed in India by Tencent Holdings Here is the full list of the banned applications.
