Facebook and Instagram down: With hashtag FacebookDown, many users have turned to other social media platforms like Twitter to share memes and express their views about the issues. Users are not able to post status updates, send messages, pages are not loading at all or loading very slow.

NEW DELHI: It is reported that Facebook and Instagram are suffering a serious outage worldwide with internet users across the globe confronting error messages when they tried to log in or post on these social media sites. Instagram users reported the application is not loading and showing an error message. The message, as received by the users on Facebook, says “Facebook is down for required maintenance now.” #FacebookDown and #InstagramDown was among the top trends on Twitter at the time of filing the copy. Some of the problems on social media site Facebook includes not being able to post status updates, send messages, page not loading at all or loading very slow. Many users have turned to other social media platforms like Twitter to share memes and express their views about the issues. It is reported by some users that an error message declared the social media site was down for maintenance. Facebook was yet to reveal the reason behind the outage.
