Casio developing grip-type handheld terminals with improved operability

Tokyo [Japan] August 29 (ANI): Casio Computer Co. Ltd. today released the DT-X400 series of handheld terminals with Android OS Ver. 8.1, which offer improved ease of use due to the design enhancements that make it handier for operators to hold the devices and input information.

The rounded form of the DT-X400 models makes for an easier grip and stress-free, comfortable operations. With trigger keys on the center-front, side and back, 1D and 2D codes can be scanned to suit various operational needs. The new models also feature a newly adopted 3.2-inch high-definition LCD for improved screen visibility.

In addition to the high durability such as the ability to withstand a drop from 3.0 meters, as well as IP67 dust and waterproof compliance, the new DT-X400 provides a high level of basic operating performance such as a continuous operation time of 30 hours for full-day operation. Also, the DT-X400-C21/WC21 are equipped with a camera and NFC.

The DT-X400-WC21 can also connect to wireless WAN, allowing operators in the transportation and other industries to transmit data in real time even outdoors. This model also supports voice communication.

Barcode read twice every 10 seconds and data received once, with wireless LAN module in power saving mode, backlight on, using FTP communication protocol.

In addition, the software to support installation and operation has also been enhanced. This includes tools to make settings easy to perform on multiple terminals and to run necessary business application software only. (ANI)
