After Roposo, Mitron, Chingari, ZEE5's HiPi To Be In The Race To Replace TikTok In India

ZEE5 has announced the launch of HiPi which will compete with a host of Indian apps that are aiming to be the next TikTok in India.

New Delhi: Zee5 has announced its short video platform HiPi with the focus to be the next viral app among the youth in the absence of TikTok. ALSO READ | TikTok Banned: Check Out These India-Based Video Sharing Apps You Can Switch To After the Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps including TikTok on Monday, a vacuum for its alternative has been created and several Indian apps are now eyeing to be the next TikTok in India. Several apps are in the race. The most prominent players include Mitron, Roposo, Chingari and Bolo Indya. Now to kickstart the platform, ZEE5 has partnered with over 300 creators to bring curated content which will be launched "within 30-60 days". ALSO READ | What Is Chingari App? It is undergoing user testing to refine the final nuances of how the application behaves. We are taking feedback from the close groups and making refinement to the product," Rajneel Kumar, Business Head, Expansion projects and Head Products at ZEE5, told IANS. The app will be free for download as it will have advertising. The revenue will be shared with verified creators on the basis of views on the video, Kumar revealed.
