Complete Blockade Of NH-24 If Not Allowed To Reach Protest Site On Wednesday, Threaten Farmers

As ongoing agitation in and around Delhi entered the 27th day on Tuesday, farmers blocked the Ghazipur border with tractors and trolleys. The traffic situation from Delhi towards Ghazipur and Ghaziabad on Delhi-Meerut Expressway was badly hit as both side carriageways were closed.

New Delhi: The National Highway 24 that connects Delhi and Ghaziabad saw smooth traffic on Tuesday evening after a section of it was blocked by a group of farmers during the day. The agitating farmers, however, warned that if their tractors and trolleys won't be allowed to reach the protest site on Wednesday then the entire highway will be blocked again. Moradabad SSP Injured Meanwhile, on Tuesday, farmers who were going to join the protest in Delhi, from Moradabad, Pilibhit, and Rampur became fierce on the Rampur-Moradabad border and attacked the car of Moradabad SSP. The incident took place when the local police in a bid to stop the farmers put up barricades, which they tried to barge through. That led to the clash between the police and the farmers. As the incident turned violent, the angry farmers attacked Moradabad’s SSP Prabhakar Chaudhary, in which he got injured. According to media reports, during the attack, the SSP suffered a leg injury and saved his life by running away from the site of the clash. Rampur SP Shagun Gautam was also attacked in the clash. Know All About The New Strain Found In UK The three farm laws have been projected by the central government as major reforms in the agriculture sector that will remove the middlemen and allow farmers to sell anywhere in the country, in turn benefiting the farmers. However, the protesting farmers remain adamant on their demand for a complete rollback of the three laws. They have expressed apprehension that the new laws would pave the way for eliminating the safety cushion of Minimum Support Price.
