Daughter of Pharmacist Killed In Srinagar Calls Out Terrorists, Says "The Act Has Opened Doors Of Hell"

The 68-year-old pharmacist, who succumbed to injuries had been operating his pharmacy in Srinagar, for several decades and recognised for his philanthropic works.

Srinagar: Day after pharmacist Makhan Lal Bindroo was shot dead by unknown militants at his shop Bindroo Medicate in Srinagar, Simriddi Bindroo emerged stronger of the death and targeted the terrorists saying her father may have died but his spirit would always live on.

“He was an awesome person who served Kashmir&Kashmiriyat. His body is gone but his spirit is still alive. Person responsible for the crime has opened doors of hell for himself,” said Simriddi.

Hitting out at the terrorist Simriddi said, “One person, who has given his entire life for the state and well being of its people, had to meet this kind of death.  This cannot be the fight against Kashmir because you have killed someone who was serving Kashmir and the people. Everyone has to die one day, but ask your consciousness if that's right and you are answerable to that one person at the end."

The 68-year-old pharmacist was taken to a hospital after the attack, but he succumbed to injuries. He was a known chemist in the area,  who had been operating his pharmacy in Srinagar for several decades and recognised for his philanthropic works.

A Kashmir Pandit, Bindroo, was among the few from his community who did not migrate after the onset of militancy in 1990. The pharmacist continued to live and serve the state and its people through his pharmacy, Bindroo Medicate.

Apart from Bindroo, street vendor from Bihar’s Bhagalpur district named Virender Paswan also also killed in Srinagar. He died on the spot and his body was retrieved by police.

A civilian was also killed by terrorists in Bandipora district, police said. Political leaders condemned the horrifc killings in the state. National Conference leader Omar Abdullah called Bindroo a ‘kind man’ who never left despite the rise in extremism in the Valley.
