Delhi Govt To Declare Test Reports Of 800 Tablighi Jaamatis Today Evening
At least 9,000 people participated in the religious congregation at Tablighi Jamaat in Nizamuddin in March. More than 25,500 Tablighi Jamaat members and their contacts have been quarantined in the country till now after the Union and state governments conducted a "mega operation" to identify them.
New Delhi, April 13: In a massive outbreak of Covid 19, the country has been making every effort to rein in the rise of cases which doesn’t seem to be flattening as of now. The cases In India witnessed a sharp rise soon after Tablighi Jamaat was traced down as a hotspot for the deadly covid 19 in the capital.
Delhi health minister Satyendra Jain speaking to APB News said on Monday, “Test reports of around 800 Jamaatis will come by today evening. We fear many of them could be Coronavirus positive. Among them are foreign visitors as well who had attended the congregation last month.”
The reports declaring the positive cases might again shoot up the total number of cases in the country. It may impact India's curve making it steeper as compared to Asian peers.

As many as 1,023 covid 19 positive cases found in 17 states have been traced to the Tablighi Jamaat congregation underlining that about 30 per cent of the total coronavirus cases in the country are linked to "one particular place".
Meanwhile, The Tablighi Jamaat attendees have been reported to be misbehaving amid Coronavirus outbreak. They have been spitting, indulging in obscenity etc in various quarantine centres. Few of them tried to flee too. It has been reported that a few Jamaatis have thrown bottles full of urine in the streets. Investigation has already begun in the case as the act was caught on camera.
With just one more day left for the first phase of the nationwide lockdown to get over, India has recorded over 9000 positive cases and over 300 death cases. Maharashtra tally of positive coronavirus cases crossed the 2000 ,mark on Monday. The nationwide lockdown announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the wake of Coronavirus outbreak is most likely to be extended beyond April 14 keeping in mind the significant rise of Covid-19 cases and deaths across the country over the last few weeks.
