Coronavirus HIGHLIGHTS: Delhi Reports 26,169 New Covid-19 Cases Along With 306 Fatalities
Coronavirus HIGHLIGHTS: India recorded the highest number of covid deaths in a single day on Wednesday. Maharashtra took more drastic steps to control the spread of Coronavirus by announcing new restrictions from Thursday 8 PM to 7 AM on May 1. Delhi's demand for increasing Oxygen supply was also increased on Wednesday evening by the Centre.

Coronavirus HIGHLIGHTS: India witnessed the maximum number of fresh covid cases on Wednesday evening, as the count read 3,15,660 cases and 2,091 deaths.
As per the data available on covid19india.org, for the first time ever since the start of the pandemic, India recorded more than 3 lakh COVID-19 cases in a single day. Now no other country has recorded more covid cases in a single day than India.
India has so far reported a total of 1,59,24,914 cases and 1,84,662 deaths.
Maharashtra saw the maximum number of casualties at 568 on April 21, followed by Delhi with 249 new deaths, and then Uttar Pradesh which registered 187 new casualties.
Meanwhile, the data for contracting coronavirus after getting the vaccine dose was released by ICMR. According to data, 0.04 percent of 17,37,178 individuals, who received the second dose of Covaxin, were positive for COVID-19, while 0.03 percent of 1,57,32,754 people, who took the second dose of Covishield, contracted the infection.
