Gyanvapi Case: Court Verdict On Carbon Dating Of Shivling Likely
The Varanasi district court is likely to pronounce its verdict on a plea seeking carbon dating of a 'Shivling' claimed to have been found inside the Gyanvapi mosque complex. Carbon dating is a widely-used method applied to establish the age of organic material, things that were once living.
The Muslim side had filed an objection in the court against Hindu plaintiffs' plea for the carbon dating of the 'Shivling'.
Hindu petitioners had during a court-mandated videography survey of the mosque premises claimed that a 'Shivling' was found close to the 'wazookhana', a small reservoir used by Muslim devotees to perform ritual ablutions before offering the namaz.
Amit Shah, JP Nadda On Assam Visit From Friday
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accompanied by BJP president JP Nadda, will be on a three-day tour to Assam from Friday where the two leaders will inaugurate the new state office of the party, PTI reported. On Saturday, the two leaders will inaugurate BJP's new state office on National Highway-27 at Basistha Chariali area in presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Shipping, Ports and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha is set to join his counterparts from other northeastern states in a meeting convened by Shah in Guwahati on Saturday to discuss ways to fight the drug menace in the region.
Shinde Faction To Meet Election Commission Over Shiv Sena Poll Symbol
The Eknath Shinde faction of Shiv Sena is set to meet the Election Commission on Friday to stake claim for the party's 'bow and arrow' poll symbol ahead of the Andheri East assembly bypoll in Maharashtra.
The move by the Shinde faction of the Shiv Sena is seen as a bid to deny the 'bow and arrow' election symbol to the Uddhav Thackeray group which has decided to field Rutuja Latke, widow of MLA Ramesh Latke, for the November 3 bypoll.
BJP, an ally of Shinde faction, has decided to field Murji Patel, a corporator in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, for the bypoll necessitated due to the death of Ramesh Latke.

The CBI on Friday filed a chargesheet against former Bihar chief ministers Lalu Prasad, Rabri Devi and 14 others in land- for-jobs scam, PTI reported. According to the CBI, Lalu Prasad Yadav, the patriarch of the RJD, his wife Rabri along with his daughters Misa Yadav and Hema Yadav were given land plots as bribes from some people who were recruited in the Railways. This happened when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Minister of Railways during the period 2004-2009.

A fire broke out at a factory in Noida on Friday, PTI reported. The factory was used to make material used in modular kitchens. Chief Fire Officer Arun Kumar Singh said 15 fire tenders were rushed to the site where fire broke out. No workers were injured in the incident.

As North Korea launched ballistic missiles toward its eastern waters, the US imposed sanctions on two individuals and three entities connected to the delivery of refined petroleum to the country.
