Prime Minister Narendra Modi will land on the Purvanchal Expressway in a C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft on Tuesday when he arrives to inaugurate the 340.8-kilometre road, which will give a boost to the economic development of the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh, in the state’s Sultanpur district.
PM Modi tweeted on Monday to say that it will be “a special day for Uttar Pradesh’s growth trajectory”. “This project brings with it multiple benefits for UP’s economic and social progress,” the Prime Minister posted on Twitter along with four photographs of the Purvanchal Expressway.
The Supreme Court will on Monday hear a petition challenging the change in the land use of a plot where the new official residences of the vice president and the Prime Minister are stipulated as part of the ambitious Centra Vista project in Delhi.
The case will be heard by a bench of justice AM Khanwilkar and justice CT Ravikumar, who had deferred the matter for Tuesday on October 29. The plea, filed by lawyer Rajeev Suri, is questioning the change of land use of a public recreational spot in Central Vista for purposes of constructing residences.
The Delhi government will formally exit the liquor business as nearly 600 vends run by it will be shut from Tuesday night, making way for new swanky private shops with walk-in facility which will begin operations the next morning under the new excise policy.
Department sources expressed apprehension that there may be a further shortage of liquor in the city due to the closure of government-run liquor vends as all the 850 new private vends are unlikely to start functioning in one go from Wednesday.
CBI Cracks Down On Online Child Abuse, Raids 76 Sites Across 14 States
In a major crackdown on Tuesday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided 76 locations across 14 states and Union Territories to curb the menace of online child abuse.
The agency had registered 23 separate cases against 83 accused persons on November 14, based on allegations related to online sexual abuse and exploitation of children.

Indian low-cost airline backed by billionaire investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Akasa Air has ordered 72 737 MAX aircraft from Boeing, news agency AFP reported.
"Akasa Air's order includes two variants from the 737 MAX family, including the 737-8 and the high-capacity 737-8-200," the joint statement by Akasa Air and Boeing mentioned.
