President Droupadi Murmu On Two-Day Visit To Andhra Pradesh from Sunday
President Droupadi Murmu will visit Andhra Pradesh from December 4 to 5, the Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a statement on Saturday.
The President will attend a civic reception hosted in her honour by the Andhra Pradesh government at Vijayawada on Sunday, it said.
On the same evening, she will witness the Indian Navy's operational demonstration at Visakhapatnam on the occasion of Navy Day and virtually inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects of ministries of Defence, Road Transport and Highways, and Tribal Affairs.
On December 5, the President will visit Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati where she will interact with students, faculty members and women achievers, etc., the statement said.
Cong Steering Panel Meet On Sunday To Decide On Plenary Session Date, Venue
The first meeting of the Congress steering committee constituted by party chief Mallikarjun Kharge will be held on Sunday to decide the schedule and venue for its plenary session.
The Congress steering committee was formed in place of the working committee, the highest decision-making body of the party, after Kharge took charge as the new chief last month.
"Tomorrow, there is a meeting of the Congress steering committee. Its main purpose is to decide the dates of the plenary session and where it should be held and there will be a discussion on this issue," AICC general secretary, communications, Jairam Ramesh told reporters.
He also said that the Bharat Jodo Yatra will reach Jhalawar district of Rajasthan by the evening of December 4 and on Sunday night it will stay in Jhalawar district.
Sunday is the 88th day of the yatra, he said.
During the all-important steering committee meeting, discussions on several organisational matters would also be taken up, party sources said.

"5 dead, 11 injured after a truck rammed bystanders & people on bikes as it got uncontrolled after a tyre burst near Satrunda Mata Mandir in Ratlam district. Injured rushed to hospital, officials at the spot," Ratlam DM said, ANI reported.
