Arvind Kejriwal To Meet Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav Today:
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will meet with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav in an effort to rally support against the Centre's ordinance on control of services in the national capital on Wednesday.
Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, will accompany Kejriwal to the meeting.
"Tomorrow, I and Bhagwant Mann Sahib will meet Akhilesh Yadav ji in Lucknow to seek support for the rights of the people of Delhi against the unconstitutional ordinance of the Central government," Kejriwal said in a tweet.
The national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party has been reaching out to leaders of non-BJP parties to garner their support against the ordinance so that the Centre's bid to replace it through a Bill is defeated when it is brought in Parliament.
Low-Pressure In Arabian Sea To Intensify Into Cyclone Storm On June 7:
The arrival of the monsoon in Kerala has been delayed by three to four days, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday. While the monsoon was expected to arrive in the state by June 4, it is now expected to arrive by June 7.
The IMD said in a statement released Monday, "With an increase in westerly winds over the south Arabian Sea, conditions are becoming favourable. Also, the depth of westerly winds is gradually increasing, reaching 2.1 km above mean sea level yesterday, June 4."
The weather department has not announced when the onset of the monsoon will begin in other parts of the country.
Former Pakistan Foreign Minister Qureshi To Meet Imran Khan Today: Report
Following a court order, Pakistan's former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi was released from a prison in the garrison city of Rawalpindi on Tuesday. He was among some of Imran Khan's party's top leaders arrested following the May 9 violent protests.
Following Chairman Imran Khan's arrest in a corruption case on May 9, the Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party was arrested last month on a slew of charges, including inciting violence.
Qureshi, 66, served as Pakistan's foreign minister under Khan's regime from 2018 to 2022.
On Tuesday, the Rawalpindi bench of the Lahore High Court ordered the PTI leader's immediate release and overturned his detention orders. Following his release from Adiala Jail, Qureshi stated that he will meet PTI chief Khan on Wednesday at his Zaman Park residence in Lahore, news agency PTI reported citing local media reports.
